Furthermore, the geopolitical tensions arising from the control and trade of these resources have the potential to escalate into conflicts, which can disrupt international stability.

One of the primary reasons for transitioning away from fossil fuels is the adverse environmental impact they have. Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, exacerbating global warming. The rise in average temperatures has led to an increase in extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods, droughts, and heatwaves, which pose significant threats to human societies and ecosystems.
