On one hand, nuclear energy offers several benefits that make it seem like an attractive option for combatting climate change. Firstly, it is a low-carbon energy source. Unlike fossil fuels, which produce greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane, nuclear power plants emit minimal greenhouse gases, making them environmentally friendly. Additionally, nuclear energy has the potential to generate large amounts of electricity, which can help meet the growing global demand for energy without exacerbating climate change.
Moreover, nuclear energy is not dependent on weather conditions or natural resources, unlike renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. This means that it can provide a consistent and reliable source of electricity, reducing the need for fossil fuel-based power plants.
