The unprecedented level of state involvement during this time underscores the notion that society is becoming more reliant on government assistance.

However, it is also possible to argue that societies are relying less on government support. Advocates of this viewpoint assert that governments should focus on creating a conducive environment for businesses and individuals to thrive rather than providing direct financial aid. The belief is that by fostering economic growth and job creation, the state can reduce its role in providing assistance to those in need. Moreover, with advancements in technology and innovation, people are becoming increasingly self-reliant, seeking solutions through entrepreneurship or other forms of non-governmental support. For example, the rise of crowdfunding platforms and charitable organizations has enabled individuals and communities to help each other without relying solely on government programs.

In conclusion, while it is clear that societies are facing complex challenges that necessitate government intervention, it is also important to recognize the growing role of non-governmental entities in providing support. Ultimately, whether society is becoming more or less reliant on government assistance depends on the balance between state intervention and individual initiative.
