In this essay, I will analyze both perspectives to determine whether society is indeed becoming more or less tolerant of diversity.

On one hand, there are several reasons to believe that society is growing more tolerant. For instance, the rise of social media platforms has allowed people from different backgrounds and cultures to interact and share their experiences. This increased exposure fosters understanding and mutual respect among individuals, contributing to a more accepting environment. Additionally, laws and regulations have been implemented in many countries to protect minority groups and ensure equal rights for all citizens, regardless of their race, religion, or sexual orientation.

On the other hand, there are also valid arguments that suggest intolerance is on the rise. For example, the resurgence of nationalist movements and populist ideologies have led to a backlash against multiculturalism in some parts of the world. This has resulted in increased discrimination and hostility towards minority groups, often manifesting as xenophobia and racism.
