On one hand, some argue that people are increasingly disengaged from politics, while others believe the opposite to be true. In this essay, I will analyze both perspectives and provide my own viewpoint on the matter.

The first perspective suggests that society is becoming less engaged in political activism. This can be attributed to several factors. For instance, the rise of social media has given rise to "echo chambers," where individuals primarily interact with those who share their views, leading to polarization and a lack of productive dialogue. Moreover, the increasing complexity of modern politics may cause citizens to feel overwhelmed and disenchanted, preferring to focus on personal matters rather than political issues. Lastly, the prevalence of fake news and distrust in mainstream media has left many questioning the credibility of information, thereby undermining their faith in the political process.

On the other hand, some argue that society is becoming more engaged in political activism. This viewpoint asserts that the rise of grassroots movements, such as the Black Lives Matter and #MeToo campaigns, demonstrates a heightened level of societal involvement in politics. This is evidenced by the rise of social movements and the increasing political awareness among younger generations. While it is crucial to address the challenges that have contributed to disengagement, we should also recognize and support the efforts made by those who are actively participating in shaping our world's future through political activism.

In conclusion, whether society is becoming more or less engaged in political activism is a subject of ongoing debate. While some aspects suggest a decline in engagement due to factors such as social media polarization and distrust in media, the rise of grassroots movements and increasing political awareness among younger generations indicate an overall increase in political activism.
