On one hand, there are several reasons why society may be becoming more supportive of government intervention. Firstly, many people have witnessed the success of various social programs and policies that have improved living standards and quality of life. For instance, universal healthcare systems in countries like Canada and Australia have proven to be effective in ensuring access to essential medical services for all citizens. As a result, these initiatives have gained widespread support from the public.

Secondly, global challenges such as climate change, pandemics, and economic crises have highlighted the need for coordinated action at the national level. In response to these issues, governments have implemented measures like carbon taxes, lockdowns, and stimulus packages, which have been seen by some as necessary interventions to protect public health and welfare.
