Despite these pressures, it is essential to protect natural landscapes from development to maintain ecological diversity, preserve cultural heritage, and ensure long-term sustainability.

Firstly, protecting natural landscapes plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological diversity. Natural habitats provide a home for countless species of plants and animals, many of which are endemic to specific ecosystems. The destruction of these habitats due to development can lead to the loss of biodiversity, disrupting the delicate balance within ecosystems and ultimately affecting human life as well.
