On the one hand, social media has undoubtedly facilitated a greater level of connectivity among individuals. Through platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, people can easily maintain contact with long-lost friends, reconnect with old acquaintances, and establish new friendships. Additionally, these digital networks have enabled global communication, allowing users to form connections with people from different cultures and backgrounds. In this respect, social media has fostered a sense of community and belonging among users, ultimately enriching their lives.

On the other hand, the prevalence of social media has given rise to several concerns regarding its impact on interpersonal communication. One such concern is that it has led to a decrease in face-to-face interactions, as people often resort to online platforms for communication. This shift can result in superficial conversations and the lack of non-verbal cues that are essential in fostering meaningful relationships. Moreover, the instant gratification offered by social media can lead to a decline in patience and attention spans, further straining interpersonal connections.

This phenomenon not only has severe repercussions on mental health but also undermines trust and credibility in online interactions.
