On one hand, proponents of strong communities believe that they are crucial to overcoming challenges and recovering from adversities. Communities provide essential support systems for individuals in times of crisis. They foster social cohesion, cooperation, and mutual assistance among their members, which are critical in coping with hardships. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, neighborhood groups formed to assist the elderly, vulnerable populations, and frontline workers by providing groceries, medication, and emotional support.
