In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives before concluding which viewpoint holds more weight.

On one hand, technology has undoubtedly transformed the way we live and work for the better. Communication is now faster and more efficient than ever before, thanks to advancements in telecommunication systems. For instance, smartphones have revolutionized the way people stay connected with their loved ones and conduct business transactions. The same applies to the field of education, where online platforms have made it possible for students from around the world to access a vast array of resources and educational materials. Moreover, technology has greatly improved healthcare services by enabling early detection and diagnosis of various diseases, thus saving countless lives.

On the other hand, increased dependency on technology comes with its fair share of drawbacks. One major concern is the impact of screen time on people's physical and mental health. Spending excessive amounts of time in front of screens has been linked to a range of health issues such as obesity, poor posture, and even addiction. Additionally, technology has created a digital divide, with those who cannot afford access to advanced devices being left behind in today's rapidly evolving world.

In conclusion, while there is no denying the numerous benefits that technology brings to modern societies, it is also essential to acknowledge its potential downsides. As such, finding a balance between utilizing the advantages of technology and minimizing its negative impact should be the primary goal for individuals and governments alike. In this regard, it can be argued that society has become more dependent on technology than ever before, but whether or not this is a positive development ultimately depends on how we harness and manage our reliance on these tools.
