The primary role of reforestation in combating climate change is its ability to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. As trees grow, they take in CO2 through a process called photosynthesis. This absorbed carbon is then stored in the tree's wood, leaves, and roots. Consequently, this helps reduce the overall amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which is one of the leading causes of global warming.
