In this essay, I will explore the argument that technology is both enhancing and diminishing personal privacy.

On one hand, advancements in technology have indeed improved personal privacy in several ways. The development of encryption algorithms and secure communication platforms, such as end-to-end encrypted messaging apps like WhatsApp or Signal, has provided individuals with the means to protect their personal conversations from prying eyes. Additionally, virtual private networks (VPNs) allow users to hide their IP addresses and browsing activities from online surveillance, preserving their anonymity on the internet. Furthermore, biometric technologies, such as fingerprint or facial recognition systems, are becoming increasingly sophisticated, offering more secure methods of identification while reducing the need for individuals to carry multiple ID cards or passwords.

On the other hand, it is equally important to consider how technology has diminished personal privacy.
