In the first place, cultural imperialism leads to a loss of cultural identity for indigenous groups. As dominant cultures impose their language, religion, education systems, media, and consumer goods on less influential societies, these smaller or less powerful communities gradually lose their unique cultural attributes. For instance, the indigenous peoples in North America were forced to abandon their traditional ways of life due to colonization. The same pattern is seen across various parts of the world where indigenous cultures have been replaced by foreign cultures.
Secondly, it disrupts traditional societies.
