On one hand, there are several reasons why governments should prioritize environmental sustainability. Firstly, the environment is a vital resource for human life and all other living organisms. By prioritizing environmental sustainability, governments can ensure the preservation of natural resources, biodiversity, and ecosystems. This will not only maintain ecological balance but also contribute to the long-term health and well-being of the nation and its people.

Secondly, prioritizing environmental sustainability can lead to significant social benefits. For instance, reducing pollution levels can improve public health by reducing the incidence of respiratory illnesses and other environmentally related diseases. On the other hand, there are also valid reasons why economic growth should be given priority over environmental sustainability.
