In this essay, I will discuss both these views and provide my own opinion on the matter.

On one hand, proponents of economic development argue that the main focus should be on improving the economy to create equal opportunities for everyone. They believe that by fostering a robust economy, all members of society can benefit from increased wealth generation. This viewpoint is supported by the fact that nations with strong economies tend to have lower levels of poverty and inequality. For example, countries like Denmark and Finland, which have a high GDP per capita, also rank highly in terms of social mobility and income equality.

On the other hand, advocates for social justice emphasize the need for a more equitable distribution of resources and opportunities, regardless of one's socio-economic status or background. They argue that addressing systemic inequalities is crucial for creating a fair society where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. By ensuring that all individuals have access to quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, social justice can help to level the playing field and reduce disparities between different groups in society.

In my opinion, both economic development and social justice are essential components of an equitable and prosperous society. While improving the economy is crucial for creating equal opportunities, it is not sufficient on its own.
