On one hand, there are those who believe that increased government assistance is necessary due to the impact of economic downturns, which have left many people jobless and struggling financially. Governments worldwide have implemented various social programs, such as unemployment benefits, welfare payments, and subsidized housing, in an effort to alleviate the hardship faced by citizens. Additionally, globalization has led to job losses in certain industries, particularly manufacturing, due to outsourcing and automation. This has further contributed to the need for government support, particularly in the form of retraining programs and social welfare schemes.

On the other hand, it is important to consider the potential negative consequences of increasing reliance on government assistance. Critics argue that such dependence can lead to complacency among individuals who may not feel motivated to seek employment or engage in self-sufficiency efforts. Furthermore, there are concerns regarding the sustainability of social programs and the strain they place on public finances.
