Firstly, biotechnology has contributed to the development of gene therapy, a treatment that aims to correct genetic mutations responsible for various diseases such as cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and certain types of cancer. Gene therapy holds great promise in providing long-term solutions for patients suffering from these debilitating conditions, and several clinical trials have shown promising results in recent years.
