Firstly, the rise of social media platforms has significantly impacted how people interact with one another. With platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, individuals are exposed to a vast array of cultural perspectives and ideas. While this can be beneficial in promoting understanding and tolerance, it can also exacerbate existing divisions by allowing people to engage only with those who share their views. As a result, echo chambers are formed where individuals reinforce their beliefs without being exposed to alternative viewpoints. Consequently, these digital spaces contribute to the growing divide among societies along cultural lines.

Secondly, political affiliations have become increasingly tied to one's cultural identity. For example, in many Western countries, conservative parties tend to attract voters from predominantly white and Christian backgrounds, while progressive parties gain support from more ethnically diverse communities. This link between politics and culture has led to a polarization where individuals feel compelled to align themselves with the political ideologies that resonate with their cultural values. In turn, this has created an environment in which societies are divided based on their cultural affiliations.

Lastly, rising nationalism and xenophobia have also contributed to this division among societies along cultural lines. As nations grapple with issues such as immigration and multiculturalism, there is a growing tendency for people to define their identity primarily through their nationality rather than shared values or beliefs.
