As people from diverse linguistic backgrounds engage with each other, it becomes necessary to learn and understand new languages. Furthermore, globalization has led to a rise in the use of English as the lingua franca, which enables easy communication among people from different parts of the world.

However, there are concerns that globalization might threaten language diversity. The spread of English is seen by many as a potential threat to indigenous languages. In many countries, English has become the medium of instruction in schools and colleges, leading students to prioritize learning English over their native languages.
