On the other hand, critics contend that social mobility alone cannot effectively address the root causes of inequality and that more comprehensive measures are needed. This essay will discuss both views and provide a conclusion based on the available evidence.

One of the key arguments in favor of social mobility is that it provides a mechanism for individuals to break free from their social class or economic background and ascend to higher levels of society. For instance, access to quality education, which is often reserved for those with financial means, can be seen as an opportunity for people from lower socio-economic backgrounds to improve their chances of upward mobility.
