They argue that by catering to each person's unique needs and aspirations, societies can create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. For example, in a highly competitive job market, advocates of individualism suggest that governments should implement policies that support entrepreneurship and innovation, as these qualities drive economic growth and enable individuals to achieve their full potential.

On the other hand, those who advocate for collective needs argue that prioritizing the welfare of society as a whole is more beneficial in the long run. Similarly, investment in public education can help create an informed and skilled workforce, thereby benefiting both the individual and society as a whole.
