On one hand, social media can have a positive influence on students' academic performance. For instance, educational platforms such as YouTube, Khan Academy, and Coursera provide free access to a wealth of knowledge and resources. These digital tools allow students to learn at their own pace and convenience, supplementing traditional classroom teaching with interactive multimedia content. Moreover, social media can foster collaboration among students from diverse backgrounds, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for academic success.

On the other hand, social media can also hinder students' academic performance. The distraction factor is a major concern, as platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are designed to be engaging and addictive.
