Firstly, one of the main reasons behind the growing concern for privacy is the widespread use of surveillance technology. Governments and corporations have increasingly employed CCTV cameras, facial recognition software, and data collection practices to monitor and analyze citizens' activities. For instance, the implementation of mass surveillance programs by governments in response to terrorism has raised concerns over the invasion of personal privacy.
