On one hand, it is true that society's overall environmental consciousness has increased. Governments worldwide have implemented policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as the Paris Agreement and the European Union's Emission Trading System. Additionally, technological advancements in renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind turbines have made it possible for individuals and businesses to adopt sustainable practices with relative ease. These factors suggest that society may be less environmentally conscious than it was in previous generations.

In conclusion, while there are arguments to support both sides of the debate, it appears that overall, society has become more environmentally conscious.
