On one hand, social media has facilitated communication and allowed people to maintain long-distance relationships, which would have been difficult without these digital platforms. For instance, instant messaging apps like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger enable users to send messages instantly, regardless of geographical location. Furthermore, the ability to share photos, videos, and personal updates on platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat has helped people stay informed about each other's lives and experiences, fostering a sense of connection even when physical presence is not possible.

However, these advantages are often overshadowed by the numerous negative impacts that social media can have on interpersonal relationships.
