On one hand, several arguments support the notion that schools should play a significant role in addressing food insecurity among their students. Firstly, education is often seen as a cornerstone of social mobility; however, an undernourished child's cognitive development and academic performance may be severely hampered. By ensuring students have access to nutritious meals, schools can facilitate learning and create an environment conducive to academic success. Secondly, food insecurity can lead to various health problems, including obesity, diabetes, and malnutrition. Consequently, addressing this issue at the school level may contribute to promoting a healthier future generation.

On the other hand, some argue that it is not primarily the responsibility of schools to resolve such issues. They believe that the focus should be placed on families or local governments, which can develop policies and programs to tackle food insecurity. Additionally, critics argue that schools should concentrate on their primary function, which is educating students, rather than providing meals.

In conclusion, while it may not be solely the responsibility of schools to address food insecurity among students, they have a vital role to play in ensuring the academic and physical well-being of their students.
