On the one hand, there are several significant benefits to reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. Firstly, it would help in combatting climate change as the burning of fossil fuels releases large amounts of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere. These greenhouse gases contribute significantly to global warming and have been identified as a major cause of climate change.
