The introduction of advanced materials, such as fiber-optic cables and smart grids, has allowed for more efficient distribution of utilities, including electricity, water, and gas. These advancements have led to a decrease in power outages, reduced water wastage, and a more sustainable energy consumption pattern. Additionally, technology has facilitated better monitoring and management of city resources through the use of sensors and real-time data analysis. This, in turn, has resulted in more efficient waste disposal systems, traffic management, and emergency response services.

Another significant area where technology has influenced urban planning is transportation.
