On one hand, advocates of multicultural education maintain that it is essential in promoting understanding, empathy, and respect among different cultural groups. In a globalized world where international travel, communication, and migration are more accessible than ever before, students need to develop an awareness and appreciation for different cultures in order to foster social cohesion and harmony.
