On one hand, it can be argued that technology has significantly contributed to the promotion of sustainable lifestyles. For instance, renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, have been made more accessible and efficient through technological innovations. These sources of energy reduce reliance on non-renewable resources like fossil fuels, thereby reducing environmental degradation and contributing to a more sustainable future. Moreover, advancements in agriculture, such as precision farming and genetically modified crops, have led to increased crop yield with less land use and water consumption, consequently promoting sustainable practices in food production.

On the other hand, there are also compelling arguments that technology can hinder sustainable lifestyles. The over-consumption of resources driven by rapid technological advancements has led to an unsustainable exploitation of natural resources.
