This essay will explore the factors contributing to this shift and provide evidence to support both perspectives.

On one hand, there are several reasons to suggest that political activism is on the rise. The proliferation of social media platforms has provided a powerful tool for individuals and groups to voice their opinions, mobilize supporters, and organize protests. In addition, global issues such as climate change, income inequality, and human rights violations have become increasingly pressing concerns, inspiring people from all walks of life to take action. Moreover, the rise in democratic movements across the world, particularly in developing countries, indicates that citizens are becoming more politically aware and involved in shaping their societies.

On the other hand, it is also possible to argue that political activism is declining. The polarization of politics has led to a growing divide between different ideological groups, making it difficult for people from opposing sides to engage in constructive dialogue. Furthermore, many people feel disenchanted with traditional forms of politics and are instead turning to alternative methods of activism, such as boycotts or grassroots movements. This shift can be seen as a sign of apathy rather than increased political engagement.
