Social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, have become essential tools for maintaining relationships and staying informed about current events. However, these same technologies also pose a significant risk to our personal privacy. For example, social media profiles often contain sensitive information that can be exploited by cybercriminals or used by marketing companies to target specific demographics. Additionally, the widespread use of surveillance cameras and facial recognition technology has raised concerns about government overreach and mass surveillance.

On the other hand, there are many ways in which technology has helped to enhance personal privacy. For instance, encryption tools such as VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) can be used to protect user data from hackers and government surveillance. Privacy-focused applications like Signal and WhatsApp offer end-to-end encryption, ensuring that messages sent between users remain confidential. Moreover, advancements in artificial intelligence have enabled the development of smart home devices, such as Amazon's Alexa or Google Home, which can be programmed to respond only when activated by specific voice commands. This level of customization allows users to maintain their privacy while still taking advantage of the benefits that technology offers.
