On one hand, globalization and advancements in technology have created new economic opportunities and job markets for many people, leading to an overall improvement in global living standards. However, on the other hand, these same factors have also contributed to a widening gap between the rich and the poor. The rise of multinational corporations and the growth of the service sector have led to the concentration of wealth among a small percentage of the population, while the majority struggle to make ends meet.

One major factor that contributes to this divide is the unequal distribution of resources. Governments often prioritize spending on defense, infrastructure, and other public services in urban areas, leaving rural communities with limited access to education, healthcare, and job opportunities. This disparity in access to essential services only serves to widen the economic gap between the privileged and the underprivileged.

Another factor that exacerbates this divide is the rise of income inequality. In many countries, wages have stagnated or even decreased for the working class, while the salaries of top executives and politicians have soared. This growing gap between the rich and the poor has led to a loss of social mobility, as those born into poverty are less likely to escape its clutches due to the lack of opportunities available to them.

In addition, the political landscape also plays a significant role in the division along economic lines. Governments may implement policies that disproportionately benefit certain groups at the expense of others, or they may simply fail to address the root causes of poverty and inequality altogether. This can create an environment where the rich continue to amass wealth while the poor are left behind, further dividing society along economic lines.
