For example, the Paris Agreement, signed in 2015, has seen widespread participation from nearly all nations, reflecting a global consensus on the importance of addressing climate change. This unity of purpose has led to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and an increase in renewable energy use.

However, the effectiveness of these agreements is also dependent on the financial support provided by developed countries to assist developing nations in transitioning to low-carbon economies. The Green Climate Fund, for instance, has been established to help finance climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts in developing countries. But, lack of sufficient funding has undermined the impact of such agreements, as many developing nations struggle to implement sustainable practices without adequate support.

Moreover, technological advancements also play a pivotal role in the success or failure of international agreements on climate change.
