Governments and organizations have also begun implementing stricter regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, which aims to protect an individual's privacy rights in relation to their personal data. Furthermore, recent controversies surrounding social media giants like Facebook, where user privacy was compromised, have sparked public outrage and increased skepticism about the role of technology companies in protecting users' privacy.

On the other hand, there are numerous factors that suggest society may be less concerned about privacy. The widespread use of smartphones and social media platforms, for example, has made it easier than ever to share personal information with others. Many individuals willingly disclose personal details online without fully understanding the potential consequences or realizing how easily this information can be accessed by third parties. Moreover, surveillance systems have become more sophisticated and are increasingly employed by governments and corporations to monitor public spaces and gather data on citizens.
