However, it can also be argued that we are becoming less individualistic due to globalization, social media, and changing cultural norms. In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives and provide my own opinion on whether modern society is becoming more or less individualistic.
According to some commentators, the focus on personal goals, ambitions, and self-fulfillment has led to a shift in societal values towards greater individualism. This can be observed through the increasing prevalence of self-help books, self-branding, and the pursuit of personal happiness above all else. Moreover, the rise of consumer culture, which emphasizes material possessions as symbols of success, reflects an emphasis on personal achievements rather than shared goals.
On the other hand, there are those who believe that society is moving away from individualism due to several factors.
