One reason for the growing political polarization is the role of social media and technology in shaping public opinion. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have become powerful tools for disseminating information and mobilizing support for political ideologies. These platforms allow individuals to engage with like-minded people, reinforcing their own beliefs and creating echo chambers that limit exposure to opposing viewpoints.

Additionally, partisan news outlets have played a significant role in exacerbating political polarization. The rise of cable news networks, such as Fox News and MSNBC, has resulted in an environment where people are more likely to consume news from sources that align with their pre-existing political views. This creates a feedback loop where individuals only hear information that confirms their own beliefs, further entrenching their political stance.

Moreover, the increasing polarization of political parties has contributed to this phenomenon.
