One of the main reasons for reducing our reliance on fossil fuels is their environmental impact. The combustion of fossil fuels releases greenhouse gases, particularly carbon dioxide, which contribute to global warming and climate change. This can result in more frequent and severe weather events, such as hurricanes, floods, and droughts, threatening ecosystems and agricultural production.

Moreover, the extraction, transport, and use of fossil fuels have adverse effects on human health. Air pollution caused by burning fossil fuels can lead to respiratory diseases and other health issues.
