On one hand, integrating into the host culture can contribute to social cohesion and harmony. When immigrants adopt the customs, norms, and values of their new home, they are more likely to establish meaningful relationships with the local population. This process can facilitate communication, promote understanding, and reduce the likelihood of misunderstanding or conflict. In addition, cultural assimilation can foster a sense of belonging among immigrants, thereby reducing feelings of alienation and isolation.

However, complete cultural assimilation may not always be desirable.
