In this essay, I will examine both sides of this argument and provide a conclusion based on the evidence presented.

On one hand, the advent of social media platforms has provided a powerful tool for individuals to express their views and opinions on various issues. For example, the Black Lives Matter movement gained significant traction through social media, resulting in widespread protests and changes in laws and policies. Similarly, the #MeToo campaign highlighted the prevalence of sexual harassment in society, leading to increased awareness and action against such behavior. In these cases, public opinion has played a crucial role in driving change, demonstrating that society is becoming more responsive to it.

On the other hand, the increased accessibility of public opinion can also have negative consequences. The echo chamber effect, where people are exposed only to opinions and views that align with their own beliefs, can result in polarized societies. This phenomenon has been observed in the United States, where political divides have become increasingly entrenched.
